Research Experience
2013 - 2018
Senior Researcher, in MASTER - Mastering the computational challenges in numerical modeling and optimum design of CNT reinforced composites (ERC-2011-ADG 20110209), School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Funded by EU.
The innovative and challenging objective of the MASTER project is the numerical modeling and optimum design of complex carbon nanotube (CNT)-reinforced composite morphologies, via a novel and computationally efficient molecular mechanics-based, multiscale stochastic numerical simulation approach, in conjunction with a robust optimization methodology.
2014 - 2015
Senior Researcher, in Optimization and automation of the digital assembly process for the automotive industry, NIKI Ltd Information Technologies & Digital Engineering, and School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Funded by General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT).
The aim of this project is the design and development of innovative, automation software for the geometrical connection and meshing of 3D complex models. The proposed software will be based on commercial CAD and FEM software and it will simplify the assembly and model meshing process required to produce a Digital Mock-up (DMU) model for thermal analysis in the automotive industry.
2006 - 2008
Researcher, in Optimum Design of Earthquake-resistant structures, in distributed supercomputer systems with arrays (Cluster / Grid), by minimizing the total cost (construction & repairing cost) in the project lifecycle, School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Funded by General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GSRT).

2003 - 2005
Junior Researcher, in Integrity Assessment of Large Concrete Dams Project (IALAD), School of Civil Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Funded by EU.
The aims of the IALAD network were to compare and critically review the current practice of dams calculation and safety assessment, to conduct a systematic comparison of enhanced models for the numerical simulation of the structural behaviour of concrete dams and to develop further plans and strategies for research.
